Street life of Kolkata

Small brief on Kolkata: Kolkata /kɒlˈkætə/, or Calcutta /kælˈkʌtə/, is the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal. Located on the east bank of the Hooghly river, it is the principal commercial, cultural, and educational center of East India, while the Port of Kolkata is India's oldest operating port as well as its sole major riverine port. As of 2011, the city had 4.5 million residents; the urban agglomeration, which comprises the city and its suburbs, was home to approximately 14.1 million, making it the third-most populous metropolitan area in India.

City of Calcutta or now Kolkata the capital of West Bengal is perhaps the most interesting for one who loves to shoot.Being a photographer I always fascinate to walk along with my camera and take the wonderful colors of Kolkata street. So many kind of people with their multifarious profession, sometime confused me.When I was kid my mother told me that in Kolkata you could get even milk of tiger.I have experience of staying in Indias most biggest cities but when I started comparing I am dead sure that something Kolkata have which don't have in other cities.
I am amazed to see the how much hardship is doing the people of this city with their meager amount of resource and money. The vast difference in economy changing the heart of Kolkata.
My biggest insecurity will be the rapid changing of landscape of Kolkata and marginal people probably have to live somewhere else but not in kolkata. So from next blog I will try to give some light on old buildings of kolkata. But in this edition I just add few edited shots of street life of Kolkata.

Thanks Happy Shuttering.

Portaits,Reflection of untold story.

Portrait is one of the toughest form of photography.
If you are photographer you can understand how much difficult of taking a portrait and if the portrait is candid where you have to express inner beauty of the person juxtaposition with  your own vision.

I am not a big photographer, and I have tremendous shortage of time for taking good photographs. But I am lucky enough that I am used to be very alert while taking photographs and keep searching for good portrait.

This post is compilation of some of my taking portraits.I do believe in post-production which I think is boon for this digital era.I like pictorial photography....Here ,some of my photographs are purly edited and created.

I have a series in flickr and even in G+also on old age people named "Me and My Loneliness". I add  those photos and more fresh photos as well.

Wish you enjoy. Happy shuttering.
