Posted two stories in Bangla in Youtube.

Last two weeks I have uploaded two stories on YouTube: Durotwo or Distance by Rana Mukhopadhyay and Sukh or Happiness by Asit Krishna Dey. Both the stories are different from each other.
Durotwo is a relationship between father and child. How a child sees his world along with his father who is living in a world with his persona but an interesting interaction merged his father and mother together and child fear diluted instantly.
Sukh or happiness is a story of an honest person who always has pride in becoming an honest man but he has to compromise with his dignity for the golden future of his son.

I hope you enjoy my story-reading session.

A new venture of Story telling in Bangla.

Hi, friends,
I am a Gettyimage Photographer but I was also primarily a trained actor. Reading is basically an important part of acting to know and understand the character that we rehearse to portray. So reading books aloud and in silence is one of my big passions and love.
I love my own language Bangla because my mother taught me to learn this language. Bangla is perhaps one of the sweetest and most rich in her literature.
I always have thought of opening a channel on YouTube mainly dedicated to Bangla stories. Earlier I was in confusion how to start, and where to start but soon I decided to merge with contemporary Indian times I could remember the great Bengal famine of 1943.
India was not an official participant in the Second World War but though India was a colony of England forced to feed the whole army deputed in the war who were mainly Indian males.
Bengal has always been rich in agricultural products but unfortunately, Bengal lost almost two million people to hunger, and malnutrition in 1943 due to this manmade famine.
I got a collection of stories mainly based on this Bengal Famine and decided to start my channel with this collection on the Bengal Famine called  Langarkhana.
Gradually, I opened my YouTube channel and named it golper dheyue dheyue which means through the waves of stories. The logo is given below you can show your interest by participating, commenting, sharing, and definitely subscribing. But the only problem is there is no subtitle I wish I could do this as soon as possible.

I added all the links to the stories here chronologically please go through the stories below.

a)  Iskapon written by Tarashankar Bandyopadhyay

b)  Ke Banche Ke Banchai  written by Manik Bandyopadhyay

c)  Noyonchara  written by Syad Waliullah

e) Nokrochorit written by Narayan Gangopadhyay

f) Kototuku khoti written by Subodh Ghosh

g) Pret written by Ramesh Chandra Sen

h) Nimontron written by Manoj Basu

i)  Khudar Desher Jatri written by Saroj Kumar Roy Choudhury

j) Dhankana written by Nani Bhoumik

k) Langarkhana written by Abul Mansar Ahmed

l) Sesher Hisab written by Parimal Goswami

m) Khuni written by Sushil Jana

n) 1943 part 1 written by Somnath Lahiri

o) 1943 part 2

My purpose in posting this post is to mainly show how rich Bangla literature and authors draw a heartwrenching picture of the people who were affected by a holocaust of hunger. Few people who did not succumb to this tragedy died after two years because India got independence with partition and cruelly Bengal was severed into two countries. This mockery of independence and partition at the same time keeps suffering the people of the two countries. Later on Bengalies from Pakistan's side got independence with a bloody war.

So my purpose is to remember the history of this sub-continent which went through a very suffering over the last three hundred years. Once Bengal was very prosperous and rich in its heritage and cultural tradition but was completely demolished by the British and its East India Company. Through my channel, I am trying to communicate those days of suffering.

However, I am not pessimistic rather I am optimistic so I am even choosing some stories that could provide relief and mouthful laughter you could enjoy that too like Gorur Golpo , Sesh Oswarohi, and Lathaoushidhi by Tarapada Roy

Last but not least I will start again my blog with a variety of topics not confined to Photography only.

Thank You have a nice day.

Festive Season

This is festival time in India.

Each and every province and states have their own festival which is in one way are unique and
interesting.
In West Bengal Durga Puja is one of the biggest festival which  involving corporate money and sponsorship, big business. In this period of time specially starting from July and end to November, Bengali people used to buy cloths, jeweleries, shoes and investing huge amount of  moneys on their looks, figure and health. In that period there is always have hope and chance for getting partner.
Its proved that if a businessman failed to make profit and not minting money out of  this festive time, then there will be full chance of getting starve in whole year.
This phenomena is understood by every sellers. That's why I have a notion that Durga puja is ramp show of Bengali Hindus.
Anyway I would like to show some rituals related to Durga puja.
One is Vermillion play or in Bengali its sindoor khela, which is quite colorful and at the same time I just spellbound to see that how a Bengali woman used to wear such jeweleries.

Silent Election going on 2

Election is on the last phase, temper is rising day by day.At the same time temperature rises like a hell.
The success of Voting lies here,in one way you are not allowing voting due to  tremendous heat  in other way you are fabricating a design of democracy, with minimum mandate.
Perhaps BJP will win the race this time. Netaji speaks more softer, consummate,in measured voice with
determination of changing the face of India.
What change they will do,showing colored balloons of dreams? As if they will change everything,as if no more people have to die in hunger,no more communal hatred, only goal will be development. And here lies the fear, people could understand what is called 'development'.
Development and Democracy are two golden bowl which will share and pass among only within billionaires, not with the middle class nor with that footpath dwellers or those laborers who left their villages for more earning and forget agriculture. Now these voter have to buy everything for his living. He could not have that money of dreaming car,a good accommodation,a proper sanitation, even a glass of clean drinking water for that he need to have a big amount of money. There will be no chance to get enough money for living for them. But a billionaire or millionaire have every chance to promote himself,so they have definitely interest in 'democracy' as well as 'development'. We were observing  development for the last 10 years. What did we get out of it?Nothing absolutely nothing.Rather our future are in danger, environmentally, economically.

The receding underground water, swelling oceans creating so many natural calamities, perhaps US is worst effected.Everyone can estimates the speed of tornadoes increasing day by day. This are all due to development.Actually we really don't care, know and understand that  development does not mean big buildings and roads only.Development mean a complete peace, a confident bright citizen, who never feel ashamed to be an agriculturist, because agriculture is one and only industry which could help to stay alive. But now in India and in world agriculture is most neglected, that will create havoc within few years,we already know food shortage started affected African countries,India is also  already a worst affected country.
But numbers of Billionaires increasing day by day.All this development are due to sacrificing of this Voters of India who are knowingly and unknowing become slaves of rich people, nothing will change merely with their single Vote. The cycle of mockery of democracy is really frustrating.

Leaders of political parties have hardly any time to discuss or argument on this grave situations, they have vision but they kept this vision secret within and  showing something bright,colorful,non-existent utopian development. We know, understand but we are helpless to do anything.

I am adding some of the snaps of Indian Voters.Who really don't know who is our Prime Minister,Or what is
Human Development Index.
Happy shuttering.

Silent,Election going on.

Again election has come in India, with pomp and show.
Perhaps the biggest fanfare in the world.
Who exactly knows how many crores and billions will spend for the peoples "Election"?
But that much confirmed that who else will come in power could change nothing.

Each and every party publishing their manifestos.I have every doubt that manifestos are written after
consultation or discussion rather there is every possibilities of hiring 'Ad mans' for their copy writing.
May have chance that agency using those copy-writer who are just recruited. This is the right time to
practice copy writing. In real sense party manifestos hardly reflects any peoples concerns. The true design of
democracy already understood by the citizens of India.

Election give so many jobs to so many people I really admire those parties who at-least show their power of expenditure.Say fastoon, placard makers, banner maker, all they get sufficient profit for their next business venture from a election. You can not say that this election can do nothing.

What about people of India? The true Indians who are  living below poverty?Who cares whether they spending 30 rupees or 20 rupees a day?Everyone judging or comparing life styles of urban people, who bother to think of rural people ?

Who bothers scams?Who bothers mud throwing?Personal De-masking as campaigning.
People are starving, their hardship for sustenance push them at the corner, where they will go?
These days people hardly get news of Farmers suicide, hot topics of the News Papers are 'rape' now.
Are anybody willing to understand why sudden this factor rises? Why so many incident of atrocities rises over the women? This proves the clear indication of social unrest.Women are the most soft and weak target, people really don't understand the cause of their deteriorating financial health, their  dreams are shattered, their hardship do not show any light of hope.Low calorie intake make them frail and sick.Anger is continuously brewing inside but they really don't understand where to burst, they found only women where they could atleast satisfy their physical might, their deeming valor of fighting. What a tragic situation. The social disparity make their position worse than slaves. All their money systematically pick pocketed by the unseen system or a conglomerate of rulers, business houses. So poverty is really a great need for the election or for permanent settlement of the parties who want to rule.
Isn't it time to ask who are real culprits for damaging our social frame works, who creating such social mess on lieu of interests of big companies?
If this is not a right time to ask, then suffice to say that they forced people to be slave for ever in near future.

I will presenting a series on common man of India.
I will publish 1 photo in 3 days.
Hope you enjoy
Happy shuttering.

Festival of Color

                                                        Holi

India is a country where  varied things are happening each and everyday.
Political scams, killing, farmer's suicide, IPL,homicide, terrorist attack, bomb-blast etc  everything happening in same breathing. Its easy and everyday features for Indian.Indian people are habituated with all these things with their life.
As if all these are nothing but simple news.
I don't have any intention to discuss  these matters in this blog because I don't feel like to discuss over  those matter because these are all over-talked and cliched now.
I don't know this system of life cycle of every Indian will ever change.

Perhaps for these, people enjoy every festivals with their own way.

There is distinct uniqueness in Indian festivals, all the festivals are very Indocentric, the characters of the festivals are completely Indian and the origin of the festivals are very old and traditional.
Some myth and story associated with the festivals.
I have a dream of incorporating a Photo documentation of Indian festivals in this blog chronologically.

This time I am adding Holi the festival of colors in this blog.
Thanks for viewing.
Happy Shuttering.

My own city Kolkata

Kolkata is always fascinating place for photographer.
All over the city is combination of old and new.Its really rare in every respect.
Couple of  days back, me and one of  my friend went for a morning walk along with our  cameras to observed the city in the morning.
Kolkata is really amazing and beautiful  in the morning. The soft light creating magic. It seemed the known places were unknown its like sudden change of little girl to her teenage,It is a beauty of nature, the transformation. Each and every transformation in nature, time, space are always  wonder for human I am not exception. In morning just near the Howrah bridge I  found lots of beggar in ques for a breakfast provided by the businessmen of bada bazar. They  always fearing god and for avoiding wrath  perhaps provide food to the poor people. In the morning they really serve good meals to the beggars.

Howrah bridge is still  definitely an eye catcher, stealing all the shows, why not? If  just a 2 years old bridge collapsed without notice, this colossus bridge was not only an engineering marvel stand erect with pride but also an example of honesty. The contractors, manufacturing departments hobnobbing with clouts creating defects in manufacture and increasing chances of risking civil life, because they have no priority of planning rather making big bucks from people exchequer. Thanks to the British at-least they made something for which we are proud of ...........

Anyway that morning was really pleasant for all means, wonderful lighting, not so humid overall a satisfying morning for a photo session.I tried to take some photographs.Got few shots for you.

Hope will enjoy.
